Games Workshop confirms stellar year with £80m profit prediction

Games Workshop says its stellar sales and profit growth, revealed in April, has continued in the period to the end of its financial year.

The Nottingham firm says it expects sales for the year to 2 June 2019 to be around £254m and profit before tax to be not less than £80m – up from £74m last year.

Games Workshop has confirmed that it paid profit share bonuses of £5m to its staff during the year. These were paid on an equal basis to each member of staff.

In accordance with the firm’s ongoing dividend policy of distributing truly surplus cash to shareholders when it becomes available, a dividend of 35 pence per share was paid to shareholders on 31 May 2019, bringing the total paid in the financial year up to £1.55 per share (2018: £1.26 per share).
