Architects see boom in hotel work

Denise Ellis and Kath Hinsley

Nottingham and Leicester-based Franklin Ellis Architects says it is set to deliver multiple hotel schemes across the UK over the next 12 months, having seen the demand for its hotel work increase by 20 per cent in the last year.

To help deliver these schemes for client brands such as IHG Marriott and Hilton, the firm has announced the promotion of one of its longest standing interior team members, Denise Ellis, to associate partner, and the appointment of Kath Hinsley as senior interior designer.

Ellis said: “At Franklin Ellis we are very passionate about nurturing creative design and aim to deliver well considered innovative schemes for our clients and their guests. It is incredibly fulfilling, and we are lucky enough to work with many leading global brands on a variety of projects.

“I am on a wonderful journey with Franklin Ellis and I’m delighted to become an associate partner and to welcome Kath to the team. She is talented in delivering innovative and well-considered interior design projects and has great expertise in creating and implementing design strategies for public and private sector clients.

“Hotels are ever-evolving as the needs of guests continue to change, and as more of us travel and work away from home, the sector continues to grow.

“We are incredibly lucky to be working on several unique schemes across the UK and we look forward to delivering these over the coming months as we continue to expand our hotel portfolio.”

Hinsley said: “I have always had an interest in building environments from a very young age and a passion for interior designs and how we experience them.

“I have known of Franklin Ellis for quite some time, even working as an external consultant on one of its architectural projects in Leicester. I’m delighted to join Denise and the rest of the dynamic team to work on the various hotel projects in the pipeline.

“The company’s growth plans to develop its client base and expand the Leicester office really appealed to me. I look forward to helping the team continue their growth within the East Midlands architectural community.”
