On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Melissa Orchard

PR, marketing and digital agency Shooting Star has announced a new appointment to bolster its growing team.

Melissa Orchard, who has worked at agency level with companies across a variety of industry sectors, has joined the Lincoln and Newark-based agency as a senior account executive.

For the last year she has been managing the PR for a selection of clients at Leicestershire-based branding agency Champions UK.

She said: “After falling in love with marketing at university and entering the exciting agency world a year ago, joining Shooting Star was the perfect next step to further my career in the industry.

“I am so thrilled to be joining such an experienced team with a fantastic array of clients. I’m especially looking forward to working with clients across the UK, growing their brands in all PR, marketing and digital aspects.”

Interim account manager Nikhita Keshwara added: “We are delighted to welcome Melissa to the Shooting Star team. She has already proved to be a valuable asset and I am confident that our clients will enjoy working with her. Melissa joins the agency at an exciting time, as our client portfolio continues to expand across the country.”

Elsewhere, Andrew & Co Solicitors has announced two new promotions.

Matthew Raczynski has stepped up to employment and dispute resolution secretary while Donna Lee has become a paralegal in the residential property team at the Lincoln and Newark-based firm.

Raczynski joined Andrew & Co in February 2017 as a float secretary to gain experience following a career change.

He said: “My years of experience in a customer-facing environment in hotel management mean I have a true passion to ensure that all clients receive the very best service I can offer.

“I’m still learning and I’m so happy to have been offered this promotion into a sector I really enjoy. Andrew & Co have been so supportive of me every step of the way, and the culture here is such that you can ask anyone anything – everyone’s always keen to help.”

Lee joined the practice at the beginning of August 2019. She brings over 30 years of experience to the firm, having spent the majority of her career in conveyancing.

She said: “After 20 years at the practice I worked at before, I was ready for a change and it was Andrew & Co’s modern approach that appealed to me, alongside the end-to-end client care, customer service and case management systems.

“After 30 years in the legal field, I’m still learning every day. The culture at Andrew & Co is such that I can feel confident in my role even in its early stages; it really is a lovely firm to work for.”
