Materials supplier backs key appointment with another acquisition

Construction materials supplier Aggregate Industries has announced a new acquisition and a new directorial appointment.

The East Midlands firm has acquired Leicester-based Maxi Readymix Concrete, an independent company which serves Leicestershire and the surrounding area.

Guy Edwards, CEO of Aggregate Industries, said: “We have been very impressed by the Maxi Readymix Concrete Limited team and are delighted to welcome them to the Aggregate Industries family. Utilising their experience in the construction sector and their strong focus on customer service, we will be able to assist the business with its future growth plans, complementing our own existing activities. This acquisition will strengthen our position in the Midlands market and will support our ambition of remaining the supplier of choice for our customers.”

Meanwhile, Darren Checksfield has taken over the role of major projects director at the company. He has over ten years’ experience with Aggregate Industries and was previously national business development director for its contracting division.

Edwards added: “I’m delighted to announce the strengthening of the team. Our customers are at the forefront of everything we do and we believe that our new structure will enable us to more adequately meet the evolving requirements of today’s major projects, while also helping achieve our ambitious growth plans.”
