Good news for drinkers as historic pub goes on the market

The Twitchel

A Long Eaton pub that abruptly closed earlier this year has been put up for sale.

Drinkers in the town will be hoping that Birmingham-based licensed property specialist James A Baker finds a buyer for The Twitchel, which ceased trading in July not long after being extensively refurbished.

The pub was run by JD Wetherspoon before its last owners, Hawthorn Leisure, took over three years ago.

The inn comprises up to 5,200 sq ft of ground floor space, a large commercial kitchen, a first-floor function room and private living quarters.

Elliot Morrell, surveyor for James A Baker, said: “The Twitchel closed earlier this year and has now come on the market offering fantastic potential to the right buyer.

“The venue underwent significant investment three years ago, and provides a large trade area, with a bar area for up to 70 customers, dining area for up to 65 people, as well as a function room and bar upstairs that can cater to a further 50 covers.”
