On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

James Dutton

Derbyshire-headquartered financial services broker Midlands Asset Finance (MAF) has appointed a new director of asset finance to increase its coverage in the north.

James Dutton will be based in York. He will oversee the development of customer relationships and the creation of a new team of relationship managers in the region.

Dutton joins from Santander, where he spent six years as director of asset finance.

He said: “In my 25-plus years of working in asset finance, I’ve learned that when a business is focused on delivering the best solution to their customers, success will follow.

“From my first visit to MAF, it has been clear to me that every single director and employee – no matter what their role – has the customer at the centre of everything that they do.

“I am looking forward to helping existing contacts and broadening MAF’s customer base as I expand the team in the north.”

MAF director Sue Chapman added: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of James to MAF.

“He has a distinguished career in asset finance, and as regional director for the north of England, he will be building out a team who will be supporting SME and corporate businesses to help them meet their investment plant objectives.”

Elsewhere, Lincolnshire construction company Stirlin has expanded its leadership team with two new appointments.

Stuart Dandridge has joined the firm as contracts manager and Alan Smith has been appointed as site manager.

Dandridge will work across all of Stirlin’s construction projects and oversee its health and safety procedures. He has 34 years’ experience in the industry.

Smith, who brings 32 years of experience to the firm, will work across all of its commercial sites, focussing initially on the earthworks, site setup and construction of Phase 1 of the company’s Stirlin Place development in Gainsborough.

James Kirby, managing director of Stirlin, said: “We are delighted to welcome Alan and Stuart to the Stirlin team. As a growing business we are always looking for experienced, knowledgeable individuals to work alongside our existing staff and bring new ideas to our company. I feel they are joining us at a very exciting time as we look to build on the success of developments such as our Homes by Stirlin Lodge Lane site, Stirlin Business Park and several other successful commercial developments, with larger schemes and new locations on the horizon.”
