Roll up, roll up – Clowne hotel to unveil £6m refurb

A Derbyshire hotel is set to reveal a £6m upgrade when it re-opens in December.

Van Dyk by Wildes in Clowne is expanding to include an extra 54 bedrooms, spa, brasserie, reception and three walled gardens.

The owners of the venue have invested some £10m in upgrades over recent years.

Paul Wildes, chief executive of the WILDES Group, said: “The Van Dyk is uniquely positioned at the corner of three prominent counties, as such, it has not only attracted people from miles around for a number of years, it is also well and truly cemented in the local community. It was therefore vital for us that we maintained the essence of the hotel that has comforted people for so long, but also bring it into the 21st Century. Whether this is the quality of the spa, restaurants and events spaces or the fact that we are going above and beyond to make the hotel as environmentally friendly as possible.

“We hope that the stylish contemporary designs will be welcomed by our loyal customers as well as attracting new people to the area.”
