Flooding set to cause chaos for commuters

Motorists and rail travellers commuting into Nottingham this morning are set for long delays and diversions as flooding continued to cause chaos in the region.

The A52 in Nottinghamshire is closed westbound between the A46 (Saxondale) and A6011 (Gamston) due to flooding. Highways England told us that, with more water coming off adjacent fields and into the carriageway, it will be closed “for some time” today.

Meanwhile, there will be no train services running between Derby and Nottingham today after flooding closed lines near Long Eaton.
