125,000 sq ft office scheme could begin in first half of 2020

How Crocus Place will look

Work on a long-mooted Grade A office development in Nottingham’s Southside area could begin in the first half of 2020, according to the City Council.

Planning consent was granted for a new seven storey office block at the south east junction of Arkwright Street and Crocus Street in June this year.

The development at the vacant site, which would be named Crocus Place, could bring over 1,000 desk spaces to the city centre.

The site near Nottingham Station previously served as a base of operations when the NET tram lines to Clifton and Beeston were under construction.

The Council told TheBusinessDesk.com: “The City Council are hopeful that Crocus Place will begin construction in the first half of 2020, with letting space in the building due to be released to market soon.

“The transformation of the Southside area is making Nottingham a desirable location, especially with the commitment to building more Grade A office space to meet demand. The 125,000 square foot, seven storey Crocus Place has the capacity to house a variety of tenants and the City Council is exploring this demand to ensure the new development is fully occupied when it opens as is prudent with all new developments.”
