Bistrot Pierre sold in pre-pack deal

French restaurant chain Bistrot Pierre has been sold in a pre-pack deal and will close six restaurants.

Reports in industry title Propel says the firm, which has its headquarters in Nottingham, will close venues in Leicester, Bath, Cardiff, Harrogate, Middlesborough and Sheffield.

Some 122 people will lose their jobs, while 681 people will be re-employed by the new owner.

Bistrot Pierre’s chief executive Nick White told Propel: “Our goal has always been to protect as many jobs as possible and ensure this great brand can continue to serve its many loyal customers.

“The next few months will be challenging but we’re committed to delivering an outstanding experience for our customers and working with all stakeholders to create a positive future for Bistrot Pierre.”
