Michelin star restaurant lands funding deal

A Michelin star restaurant in Nottingham has secured a funding boost.
Alchemilla restaurant which is located in the Derby road area of the city and run by former Sat Bains chef Alex Bond has received the funding to support working capital requirements.
Bond opened Alchemilla in August 2017. He was named as the Chef to Watch in the Waitrose Good Food Guide for 2019.
He said: “Like a lot of businesses in our industry, the last few months have been very challenging. We have looked at ways of innovating to maintain income streams.
“We have also tried to do our bit for the local community and I’m proud to be able to say that we cooked 800 meals a week for four weeks for both QMC and City Hospital before joining forces with open kitchens and a redistribution charity called Fair Share to produce another 650 meals a week for hospices, shelters and people that were isolating.
“It’s a true example of what is great about our country and how people pull together to support each other.”
Funding was provided by Barclays through the Government’s CBIL scheme.
Justin Parker, business manager at Barclays in Nottingham, said: “Many businesses have found the past few months very challenging and the hospitality and leisure industry is no exception. I am pleased we have been able to support Alchemilla restaurant with this funding and would like to congratulate them on the part they have played in supporting the local community.”
