Former Nottingham Central Library site placed on the market

The former Nottingham Central Library site in Nottingham city centre has been placed on the market.

The move follows the abandonment of plans to sell the 73,410 sq ft building on Angel Row to Henry Boot Developments because of “changes in the economic context”.

Henry Boot had previously revealed that it was set to turn the site into Grade A office space.

Now, the former library building is up for sale by tender, with the deadline for offers by 12pm on Friday December 4.

According to marketing materials, the site is “suitable for a mixed-use developnment up to 14 storeys in parts (subject to planning)”.

The Central Library site closed at the beginning of lockdown in March. A new library is being built in the mixed-use scheme currently being constructed as part of the new Broadmarsh bus station and car park.
