On the move: the latest East Midlands hires
Hockley Developments has appointed of Alex Cockayne quantity surveyor.
Cockayne previously worked at Clegg Construction and nmcn.
Managing director, Alan Forsyth, said: “As expected we had a lot of good applicants for this position, but Alex’s experience working for different sized companies, and his clear people skills, as well as being based locally, meant he was a clear favourite for the position and we are delighted he is now on board and helping make a difference.”

Promethean Particles, the Nottingham provider of high specification nanoparticles, has announced the appointment of James Stephenson as its new CEO.
Stephenson’s career spans both sides of the Atlantic working for Dow Corning for more than 16 years. After working in the UK, he moved to their Michigan, USA, headquarters in 2006, where he became global product manager for its Electronics and advanced materials business.
While in the States, Stephenson led an internal start-up for the development of silicon nanoparticle-based inks for printed electronics. His career advanced to senior business development, strategic marketing and business management roles in plastics, composites, and coatings equipment. Most recently he held the positions of vice president, blobal business development for Carlisle Fluid Technologies and before that, general manager and managing director for a 250-person division of Polyone Corporation (now Avient).
Chairman, Alan Lamb, said: “James is the right person to lead Promethean to be a highly successful company. He will bring a disciplined approach to the development and prioritisation of existing opportunities, the formation of a strategic plan to address our core markets, and leading the Promethean team in the execution of that plan.”
