Historic pub-restaurant up for sale

An historic Lincoln pub-restaurant has been put up for sale.

Licensed and leisure property specialists Everard Cole have been instructed to market the Wig & Mitre, a Grade II listed building which has been described as ‘local institution’.

It was founded by the owner Valerie Hope, and her husband Michael, in 1977.

Everard Cole director Jon Heald said: “The Wig & Mitre is a truly special venue that has been a mainstay of the Lincoln hospitality landscape for many years. The Wig is a traditional English pub-restaurant situated in the heart of historic Lincoln that enjoys trade from the tourists flocking to see the world-famous cathedral and castle, along with the more local regulars.

“It will be a very sad day when Valerie finally does step back, but the sale presents a tremendous opportunity for a new owner and provides a great platform to take the business further.”
