Major 175,000 sq ft city centre office refurbishment completes

The £3m redevelopment of 175,000 sq ft East West on Maid Marian Way in Nottingham has completed.

Formerly known as City Gate, East West was bought by CEG in 2018. CEG then snapped up the adjacent Toll House Public House in order to transform the entrance experience into the offices. This has now been integrated within the development and provides a café offering a variety of spaces to eat, meet, drink and work with access to WiFi and plug in points.

Two office suites have been fully refurbished and launched to market, offering 6,500 sq ft and 5,300 sq ft of space.

This first phase of redevelopment also includes new reception area to the east building, with a café and space to work, east, drink, meet and collaborate.

Improvements to the glazing, lighting, heating and ventilation have “significantly” boosted the energy rating. A cycle spa, fitness space, showers, drying room and lockers are also included.

Olivia Hughes, investment manager at CEG, said: “We have given East West a fabulous new look, delivering a flexible and contemporary working environment with a wide variety of new on-site amenities. The building has been revitalised, responding to businesses wanting healthy, sustainable and productive space that will help to attract and retain the best talent.

“Although the buildings are almost fully let, we do have two refurbished office suites available ready for a client’s bespoke fit out to ensure that the space fully meets their aspirations.”

East West is home to Nottingham Trent University, Arup, JLL, Experian, Domestic & General, Scape Group and RSM.

CEG has appointed the Nottingham offices of M1 Agency and FHP Property Consultants to market the building.
