Nottingham contractor says cheers as work begins on new distillery project

Clegg Food Projects has started work on a new HQ for Alcohols Limited

A Nottingham-based construction company has begun work on a new HQ for a distillery which creates the core alcohol for 75 percent of the country’s artisan gins.

Clegg Food Projects, which operates nationally, has been appointed to build a new head office, production and distribution centre for Rugby-based Alcohols Limited.

Alcohols Limited Langley Distillery is part of the family-owned Palmer Group. The new facility is expected to open its doors to staff in the next two to three years.

Oliver Jenkins, business development manager at Clegg Food Projects, said: “We are thrilled that Alcohols Limited Langley Distillery has appointed us to construct its new facility as the company looks to future growth.

“We’ve worked on several beverage facilities – particularly breweries – across the UK but not a core alcohol facility, so this is an interesting project for the team. It brings together all our experience and expertise but on a fresh project and we’re thrilled to be making good progress on site

“It is an exciting time for Palmer Group as the site marks a milestone for the company as they look to expand, and as the principal contractors, we are pleased to be part of their journey.”

Adam Wallis, managing director at Alcohols Limited, added: “The new site will bring significant manufacturing capability and allow the business to grow and prosper. The excellent transport connections, by train and road – including the A14, M1, and M6 – are all an added benefit for moving to the region. We are pleased to have Clegg Food Projects supporting us in this transformational project.”
