Lorri Johnson

Sky Recruitment Solutions has handed a key role to a sales and BD expert described as her boss’ “right-hand woman.”

Lorri Johnson has been promoted to regional business development manager after spending two years with the Derby-headquartered recruitment firm.

The promotion marks the latest chapter in Johnson’s 25-year-plus career in sales, recruitment and business development.

She said: “I’m super excited. I came into the business part-time, but I’ve been very well looked after, and the company seems to be going from strength to strength.”

The announcement comes as Sky gets set to launch a new branch in Bradford – its tenth overall.

Craig Cheetham, regional business manager for Sky Recruitment, said: “Lorri is a very special person, she’s unbelievable. Nothing is ever too much for her – she goes above and beyond in any task and everything we ask her to do.

“Everybody within the company adores her. She has brought a lot of business to us and she builds good relationships with our clients. She fully deserves the promotion.”

Leicester Business Festival (LBF) has unveiled three new directors.

The annual B2B event is overseen by the Leicester Business Festival Community Interest Company (CIC).

Better-IT MD David Nicholls, Leicester College’s business enterprise manager Rupinder Drew and Leicestershire CCC CEO Sean Jarvis will join existing CIC directors Richard Osborn and Ian McCormack for this year’s event, which takes place between 7 and 18 November.

Jarvis said: “LBF is the perfect place for me to share some of the insights and experience I have. I am really looking forward to not just inputting my experience to help drive a more positive local economy, but to also learn from others about what makes Leicester and Leicestershire one of the best places to work and invest in.

“I look forward to working closely with the other directors to make sure LBF 2022 is a huge success.”
