A52 closed due to collision

The A52 is currently closed westbound between the M1 J25 (Nottingham) and the A5111 Raynesway (Derby) due to a collision.

Derbyshire Police are currently leading the response to a single vehicle collision. All emergency services are in attendance and the road has been closed to allow them to work safely at scene. Recovery has been arranged and National Highways has resources in attendance to assist with traffic management.

A diversion route is in place and road users are advised to follow the route marked by the hollow diamond diversion symbol on local road signs.

– From the A52/M1 J25 interchange, take the slip road onto the M1 southbound.
– Leave at J24A towards the A50 westbound. Continue on the A50 until the slip road to the A6 Alvaston Bypass.
– Continue on the A6 to the junction with the A5111.
– Follow the A5111 until it links up with A52 westbound. Re-join A52.

A statement from National Highways said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
