10-mile tailback on M1 after collision

There are long delays on the M1 southbound between Junction 29 (Chesterfield) and Junction 28 (Mansfield) due to a collision which has closed 3 lanes (of 4)

There is about 10 miles of congestion on approach to the closures which is adding over 90 minutes to normal journey times.

A statement from National Highways said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
