On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Smith Partnership Solicitors has added a pair of new faces to its family law team.

Chet Desai and Manpreet Chehil have joined the firm’s Leicester office from Cartwright King, which was recently sold in a pre-pack deal after slipping into administration.

The pair bring nearly 25 years’ combined experience to Smith Partnership.

Della Phillips, partner and Leicester branch manager, said: “I am very excited at the expansion of the team and the knowledge and experience that Chet and Manpreet will bring.”

Desai said: “I was keen to join a modern, progressive firm with a sound reputation for child protection work. Smiths is clearly one of the largest firms in the region with a recognised brand and so it was an easy decision for me. I look forward to helping the department grow its standing and reputation on the Leicester circuit.”

Chehil added: “I am looking forward to working with the incredible colleagues within the firm. Many of the staff at Smith Partnership have long years of service which is indicative of how well the firm looks after their employees and I am thrilled to have joined the team.”

PR, marketing and digital agency Shooting Star has welcomed a trio of new hires.

Abi Fitzsimons and Lizzie Blythe have joined the Lincoln firm as account executives, while Holly Townsend joins its Rising Star Internship scheme. 

Shooting Star director Jez Ashberry said: “We had an extremely busy 2022 and we’ve taken on these three new recruits to help us manage the increased workload. 

“They’re settling in very well and we’re looking forward to continued growth in the new year.”
