Leicestershire caterer cooks up tasty partnership with construction giant

Ashby-based contract caterer Wilson Vale has added UK construction heavyweight Wates Group to its client portfolio.

The partnership will see the East Midlands company – which is one of the largest of its kind in the UK – supply catering at Wates’ head office in Surrey.

Established in 2002, Wilson Vale employs over 650 people. In July, the firm told TheBusinessDesk.com it was planning to create in excess of 100 additional positions after enjoying a 25% increase in gross profits.

David Anderson, who manages Wilson Vale’s southern operation, said: “It’s brilliant to kick off the year with such an exciting new collaboration; like us, Wates Group has a firm commitment to communities and sustainability, which makes them such a perfect fit – we are delighted to add them to our client base.”

Steven Penny at Wates Group added: “Wilson Vale’s reputation and ethos for sustainability perfectly mirrors our own, and it’s something we look forward to driving together.

“As well as that, their philosophy of using seasonal and high-quality ingredients made them the ideal choice as our in-house caterer; we can’t wait to see what’s in store on the menu!”

Wilson Vale took a giant stride towards achieving its environmental targets last year when it became one of the first catering companies in the UK to achieve certified carbon neutral status.
