Developer turns to student use for long-awaited scheme

Some 245 student beds could be brought forward at site that had previously been granted planning permission for a private rented sector (PRS) development.
Cassidy Group has revealed plans to turn the Chainey Place site on London Road in Nottingham, which had previously been given the go-ahead to be turned into 150 apartments, into student accommodation.
A planning statement reads: “Located on an important route into Nottingham’s city centre, the building will be seen as a high quality addition to an area that is undergoing some exciting new developments. The scheme will make use of a site which has been left derelict for some years and will create a new neighbourhood and much needed student accommodation.”
