On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Luxfer Gas Cylinders has appointed an experienced new sales director.
Nick Herbert joins the manufacturer, which has its UK base in Nottingham, following a 25-year career in the automotive, manufacturing and engineering industries.
He said: “Luxfer really is Nottingham’s best kept secret, tucked away in Colwick, and when I saw the role, it ticked so many boxes.
“There’s a great culture here. It’s a dynamic business, a growing and stable company with the strength of a global group behind it. Luxfer clearly invests in its people – high calibre, passionate individuals – and its mission is to create a safe, clean and energy efficient world. That’s inspiring in itself.”
An engineer by degree, Herbert spent the first part of his career in the profession before evolving his expertise into project management.
He has held roles with Tsubakimoto, Gates Corporation and Bri-Stor Systems.
Meanwhile, Nottingham-based window furnishings company Hillarys has appointed its first “Interior Squad” – a group of six influencers who will create digital content for the firm.
Sarah Able, group PR manager, said: “When you work with influencers over a sustained period, you start to understand each other better and can align your brand objectives to produce exciting work of true substance.
Oliver Heath, Emily Murray, Isa Chadborn, Gemma Gear, Hayley Blythe and Suzi Tipple
“The better they know your goals, the easier it will be for them to create content that is personal and doesn’t feel like a commercial or unnatural endorsement.
“When we launched our IWantThatStyle campaign back in 2016, we were one of the first interior brands to put influencers at the forefront of a multi-channel product launch.
“Since then we’ve seen influencer marketing evolve as one of the most exciting and fast growing areas in our brand communications. We’re keen to take it to the level with the launch of our Interior Squad.”
Able added: “Each member of the Squad has been hand-picked based on the quality of their content rather than follower numbers. And because they each bring something different whether it’s a passion for sustainability or a love of colour and across different life stages and design styles.”
Emily Murray, who has a blog and Instagram account called pinkhouseliving, said: “Hillarys has been one of my absolute favourite clients since they featured me doing a mad straddle jump on the cover of their lookbook a few years ago!
“I love everything about them, from the wonderfully warm people who work at the company, to their genuine desire to engage with their customers, and of course the fantastic products and services they offer. I’ve always believed longer term partnerships lead to the most meaningful and engaging content. And I’m honoured to be part of a Squad with such amazing, inspiring team members. I can’t wait to use my platform to show everyone what an incredible company Hillarys is!”
