Make new connections at April’s Women in Business Lunch
The first speaker for our forthcoming Women in Business event has been revealed.
Laura Clarke, director of manufacturer Chilwell Products, joins us at midday on Thursday April 20 at Bar Esca in Nottingham city centre, where she will chat with TheBusinessDesk.com assistant editor Anna Cooper about her career, company and what challenges and opportunities she faces as a woman running a business.
Laura stepped into the role of director in 2019, making the family business Chilwell Products a 3rd generation company. She’s a MSci graduate of Physics with a love for continual improvement and innovation in all areas. Her compassionate and unique approach to running the business is advancing the company leaps and bounds.
Investment in new machinery and employee workflow has helped to transform the landscape of the company into a 4-day working week. All members of the team are now working 5 hours less each week, whilst still receiving the same annual pay and performing above and beyond.
