On the move: the latest East Midlands hires
Leicestershire-based building society esbs has promoted Stephen Wigfull from finance director to deputy chief executive.
Wigfull joined esbs as its financial controller in August 2016 and was promoted to finance director at the end of July 2019. He will retain his former responsibilities.
He said: “I’m thrilled to have been promoted within the Society and am relishing the chance to face fresh and exciting challenges in my new role.
“I first joined the Society because I was passionate about being part of an organisation that promotes thrift and home ownership, and I’m pleased that these values are as firmly at the core of esbs today as they have ever been.
“In my time here I’ve been impressed by the skills and characters of my colleagues and am very glad to continue working closely with the team.”
Paul Tilley, chief executive of esbs, added: “I would like to congratulate Stephen on his promotion. He has been immensely valuable in his time with the Society so far, and I’m pleased that the Society’s finances are in such capable hands.”
Elsewhere, Your IT Department has welcomed a pair of new hires, upping its headcount to 22.
Nathan Harries joins the Nottingham-based IT support company as senior engineer, while Danni-Marie Wardle takes on the role of service desk coordinator.

Managing director Lee Hewson said: “We’ve had a fantastic year, growing the business by 39%, and it was clear from demand we needed to add to the team. Nathan is a great addition to the technical team, whilst Danni has taken a role made vacant by an internal move. She has great organisational skills and is perfect for the role.
“Although they’ve only been with us for a short time, Nathan and Danni have settled in really well, we are certain they are going to be really valuable members of the team.
“Despite the concerns in the wider economy we are anticipating another busy year and more growth so it’s important that we can attract good quality people.”
