Engineering firm calls in administrators

A Nottinghamshire engineering firm has collapsed into administration.

Lindhurst Engineering, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, has appointed Ben Jones and Raj Mittal of FRP Advisory to look after the day-to-day running of the firm.

The move comes after the firm has posted a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators through Excello Law on June 20.

The NOI gave the firm a short period of protection from creditors while it tries to plot a way forward.

Lindhurst was set up in 1985 to provide fabrication services to the local coal mining industry. Since then it has worked in the utilities, food and drink, construction and transport industries.

Lastest accounts for the company, for the year ending August 31 2022, show the firm had assets of £1.76m, while it owed creditors £1.52m.

The average number of employees during the year was 35.
