John Pye board member lands director role at Turnaround Management Association

Charles Loake

Charles Loake, associate director at Nottingham-headquartered auction house John Pye & Sons, has been appointed as a director of the Turnaround Management Association UK (TMA).

Following in the footsteps of John Pye colleagues, including managing director Adam Pye, Loake is taking over the role from John Pye’s joint head of property and business, Trevor Palethorpe as he prepares to step down from the board, following a two-year tenure.

TMA is a global organisation dedicated to business turnaround, recovery and renewal. It has around 10,000 members across 20 countries.

Loake has over 20 years’ experience with John Pye & Sons, as joint head of business assets and property. He has provided valuation and sales advice on some of the UK’s most high-profile insolvencies, including Made.com and Phones4u. He is also a Fellow of NAVA Propertymark (National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers) and a member of NAEA Propertymark, the UK’s leading membership body for property agents.

Paul Davies, president of TMA UK, said: “We are delighted that Charles is joining the TMA UK Board of Directors. Both John Pye & Sons and Charles have been great supporters of TMA UK and we look forward to working with Charles to continue our excellent relationship.”

Loake said: “I have always enjoyed being a part of TMA. As a director of a nationwide firm, it’s a great way to connect and stay informed on how our market is performing in all regions of the UK, as well as maintaining and developing new relationships.

“Following in Adam’s and Trevor’s footsteps, joining the board was a natural progression, as we can continue to offer John Pye’s support with hosting future events and grow the TMA membership further.”
