Wilko makes a comeback with site launch and brand to reappear in shops

The retailer wilko.com is relaunching its home delivery service for online orders starting today (Friday 13 October), offering various products and brands through its ‘marketplace’ format.

The website is kicking off with inventory that includes everyday household and gardening items, consisting of thousands of product lines.

In August, Wilko faced financial difficulties and entered administration, resulting in the loss of approximately 12,000 jobs.

Despite the efforts of administrators from PwC, they could not secure a rescue for a substantial portion of the business.

The acquisition of Wilko’s brand and online operations by The Range proved to be a lifeline, preserving the employment of 36 digital team members who transitioned to the homeware retailer founded by Chris Dawson.

In addition, as the site expands and delivery options, including next-day delivery, are reinstated, hundreds of new product lines and proprietary brand products will be introduced daily.

Shoppers will also notice the introduction of Wilko-branded products in The Range stores nationwide by the end of the month.
