Occupier confirmed for former Wilko headquarters

Worksop headquarters

DHL has assumed control of Wilko’s former Worksop head office after the retailer’s nationwide downfall last year.

Situated at Manton Wood, near the A57, the facility was established in the late 1990s and underwent expansion in the early 2000s.

In November 2022, the 1.1 million sq ft site was sold to DHL for £48m. Just two months later, DHL ended up selling it on again for £88m, though Wilko remained the occupier of the site and DHL was its landlord.

Following Wilko’s administration in August last year, stores throughout Nottinghamshire began shutting down in September, with the Worksop headquarters closing within the same month.

DHL has recently confirmed its occupation of the former head office since December.

While road signs continue to indicate Wilko’s ownership of the site, the entrance is now covered with DHL branding.

DHL, which already operates a large facility on the opposite side of the A57, handles transportation and logistics for various companies including Kopparberg from Worksop.

Late last year, it was confirmed that a Nottingham-based auctioneer had been selected to oversee the sale of equipment from Wilko’s Worksop headquarters.

Items such as pallet racking, recycling, and handling equipment were listed for sale via online auction.
