On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Daniel Harley

Auction house John Pye & Sons has appointed Daniel Harley as legal counsel.

Harley will be based at the firm’s Nottingham head office and, in his newly-created role, will report to head of legal, Rosalind Keen. His main responsibilities will involve supporting the legal team with tenders and contract reviews while focusing on property-related matters and disputes.

Harley will also be involved in larger projects to effect change to policy or procedure within the business and will handle court cases involving the group of companies.

He said: “John Pye has an excellent reputation and I have enjoyed watching the business grow from strength to strength over the years.

“With both a personal and professional interest in a number of areas where the business operates, I am confident that my private practice experience will be a good fit and I’m excited about supporting the team to further grow its operations.”

Keen added: “Daniel’s appointment marks another significant chapter for John Pye and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to the legal team.

“Daniel’s experience within the property sector will be invaluable as we focus on developing these partnerships and leveraging our growing reputation within the market.”

Lule Barber and Sian Wright

Customer experience assistants Sian Wright and Lulu Barber have joined Northampton workspace Vulcan Works.

Wright, who previously ran a café and similar retail businesses, also manages the social media and website for Vulcan Works.

She said: “Vulcan Works is nothing like anything anyone has ever seen before in Northampton. Rather than gutting it from its originality and making it a standard retail space, the renovations stuck to the heart of what it was as the ironworks.

“I think the fact that it is original and independent is what draws people in. It’s a calm, inviting workspace and there’s lots of room for collaboration.”

Barber, who previously worked in big brand retail before joining the team, agrees.

She said: “I fell in love with Vulcan Works as a business and instantly could see myself working here. It’s an incredible environment.

“The main thing that stands out for me is the sense of community and you can become a part of that community straight away, whatever industry you’re in or wherever you have come from, which is really special.”

“I love what Vulcan Works stands for and I can really see myself growing with the centre.”

Scott Murcott and Adam Lee

To head up this new division the firm has appointed Adam Lee.

A senior insurance professional with 20 years of experience, Lee’s career has seen him work across different sectors, with a focus in the commercial, healthcare and hospitality industries. He joins Montane Insurance Services from Gen2.

Scott Murcott, managing director at Montane Finance, said: “The launch of an insurance division specialising in healthcare and hospitality is a planned and logical step for the Montane Group as we continue to grow the business. We’re responding to increased demand from our clients to deliver a proactive and full service offering to their funding and insurance needs.

“We’re thrilled to welcome a skilled insurance professional like Adam to the team. Building Montane into a full-service independent broker is an exciting proposition, and I am looking forward to growing the business further and welcoming more new members to the team in the future.”
