Haulage firm hits the skids as administrators brought in

A 100-year-old trucking company in Leicestershire has called in administrators from FRP Advisory.

CC & RJ Emerson specialises in waste and recycling transportation, including scrap metal as well as aggregate materials.

Miles Needham and John Lowe of FRP Advisory were named joint administrators on April 4, the day before CC and RJ Emerson filed a notice of intention to appointment administrators.

The family-run haulage firm employed around 50 people and operates a fleet with 35 tractor units, five rigid 8-wheelers, and 40 trailers.

In February James Emerson transferred his shareholding to Emerson’s managing director Daniel Emerson. Earlier this month, Kjell-Ove Edstrom stood down as a director.
