Footwear retailer strides on with steady set of results

Leicester-based footwear retailer, Shoe Zone has released a steady set of results for the 26 weeks ending 30 March 2024.

The company reported revenue of £76.6m, up 1.5% from £75.4m in the first half of 2023, driven by digital revenue, which rose by 19.6% to £17.1m from £14.3m.

However, store revenue saw a decline of 2.8%, falling to £59.4m from £61.1m in the same period last year.

Adjusted profit before tax remained steady at £2.5m matching the previous year’s figure.

Operationally, Shoe Zone ended the period with 309 stores, down from 323 at the end of the 2023 financial year. The total includes 162 new format stores, up from 135, and 147 original format stores, down from 188. The company opened 15 new stores, conducted 15 refits, and closed 29 stores during the period.
