New head appointed at finance broker to lead Midlands commercial division

John Maude has been appointed by Cornerstone Finance Group to lead the commercial finance business in the Midlands region, expanding the firm’s presence from Wales and the South West.

As the new head of commercial finance (Midlands), Maude will focus on expanding the commercial lending business and will help grow both the team and client base.

With over 36 years of experience in business and commercial banking, he will use his expertise to help Midlands-based businesses secure the funding they need.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining the Cornerstone Finance Group with the remit of building the business and establishing the brand as the number one commercial broker in the Midlands. Businesses across the Midlands are striving for growth and Cornerstone has vast experience of working with such clients to offer bespoke advice whilst working together to find solutions that are right for them.”

Maude started his career at RBS, later becoming NatWest, where he held several roles and spent 30 years in leadership. He has recently held the role of regional managing director, Midlands, South West & Wales, followed by the last 18 months as head of business banking portfolio management.
