On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Kim Ager

A provider of human resources and employment law support has expanded its team to keep up with its growing clientele.

Derby-based Precept has welcomed back associate Robyn Smith, who has been on maternity leave and recruited professional Kim Ager as head of HR services.

Smith said: “The past nine months have flown, but I am excited to be returning to my Precept family. They have been an incredible support during my maternity leave and very much made me feel part of the family throughout. I am now raring to hit the ground running.”

The appointments bring the total number of staff members at the Mansfield Road business, part of the Barron McCann group of companies, to 8.

Agers’s recruitment will see a renewed focus on the firm’s HR offering, expanding the breadth of services they can offer to their clients.

Before joining Precept, she worked in HR for four Derbyshire-based companies in industries ranging from food to tableware, to medical devices. In a HR career spanning 12 years, Ager understands the importance of providing a good balance of support for employees, while ensuring there is no risk to the individual business.

She said: “In my previous role I had been supported by the Precept team, so have experienced the firm as a client. They kept me informed which made me feel in control of a stressful situation and were always open and honest with me – explaining things properly instead of trying to baffle me with a jargon-heavy approach.

“Human resources is a growing area for Precept, and I am looking forward to developing the department and creating a team that has the same approach.”
