Shower products supplier alerts administrators

Aqualux, the Leicestershire-based manufacturer and supplier of showering products, could be looking at a troubled future after alerting administrators.

The company, which was set up in 1979, has posted a notice of intention to appoint administrators through law firm Fieldfisher. The move will mean that Aqualux is protected from any creditor action for a period of around two weeks.

The move comes on the same day that a compulsory strike-off notice was posted on Companies House, giving the Hinckley firm two months to prove it shouldn’t be dissolved.

Many of the products on the Aqualux website are listed as “out of stock”.

In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of June, Aqualux posted a loss and complained of “materiality uncertainty” which “may cast significant doubt” on the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.

At the time, Aqualux employed 24 people from its Leicestershire base.
