Developer unveils plans for second phase of housing in the National Forest

A developer has unveiled plans for a second phase of housing on fields in the National Forest.

Last year, Charnwood Borough Council approved Bloor Homes’ proposal to build 200 homes on land off Ingleberry Road, Shepshed.

Now, Bloor Homes is seeking approval for an additional 65 houses on adjacent fields, currently used for farming.

If approved, the new phase would feature a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, with 20% designated as affordable housing.

Bloor Homes has promised “extensive public open space” and plans to provide play facilities that phase two residents will share with those in phase one.

The detailed plans for phase one were submitted earlier this year, and the council has yet to decide on the planning permission.

Concerns have been raised by Councillor Birgitta Worrall regarding a pylon that could overshadow the planned playground.

Should phase two receive approval, the homes will be accessed via phase one’s access road onto Ingleberry Road.

The application documents are available on the council’s planning portal, and comments or objections must be submitted by Monday, September 30.
