CEO fires his way to podium place in debut Ginetta Super Cup race

A local businessman has achieved a podium position in his debut appearance in the 2016 season of the Ginetta Super Cup held at Brand Hatch.

Grahame Tilley, who lives in Leicestershire, is CEO of Underwood based fire, security and protection company Tecserv, and has been racing cars since he was 18. This is his debut season racing in the Ginetta Super Cup series, which, as the official support programme to the British Touring Car Championships, are held on the same day and attract large crowds and TV coverage.

In total, 18 drivers took part in the amateur class of the championship, each racing a Ginetta G55 GT4 type racecar. Tilley’s finishing results over the three rounds put him in third place in the standings, earning him a podium position to take in to the next race which takes place on 16/17 April at Donington Park.

Tilley said: “I did not get off to the best of starts, and sustained some early damage to the front of the car but was able to carry on. This was my first race in a brand new car and I am still getting used to it so I am very pleased with the overall result and very much looking forward to racing in front of my home crowd at Donington.”
