Sporting round-up: it’s all about the cricket

With the first Test Match against Sri Lanka underway, and the football season just about over, it really does feel like it’s time for cricket to take over for a while.
All four of our County Championship sides are in action this weekend.
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club travel south to the Aegas Bowl on Sunday 22 for the start of the County Championship match with Hampshire. Notts lie in mid-table in the Specsavers County Championship Division 1 after five games – with Hampshire rock-bottom.
In the Natwest Blast Series, Derbyshire take on Lancashire Lightning at Old Trafford today (Saturday) and start a four-day County Championship game at home against Kent tomorrow (Sunday).
Meanwhile, at Grace Road, Leicestershire County Cricket Club host Worcestershire tomorrow (Sunday) in a Specsavers County Championship Game.
Northamptonshire end our cricketing round up this week as they travel to The Brightside Ground to face Gloucestershire in the Specsavers County Championship Division 2.
Play in all County Championship games starts at 11am.
And if you don’t fancy cricket – how about travelling to the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham where it’s the Holme Pierrepont Country Park Open Weekend. Taking place between 10am – 5pm, you will have the opportunity to try some of the Centre’s most popular activities for just £10 with the Unlimited Day Pass.
