Notts pharmacy sold to north-west firm

Misterton Medical Services has been bought by The Hub pharmacy, based in Skelmersdale.

The acquisition of Misterton Pharmacy means the Hub pharmacy now operates 19 pharmacies .

Misterton Pharmacy is located at The Retort House, Marsh Lane, Misterton in North Nottinghamshire. It is adjacent to the GP surgery of the Misterton Group practice of Dr Brownson and Dr Ahmed on Marsh Lane in Misterton.

During the next three months, the Hub pharmacy will invest substantial funds to upgrade the IT systems and boost the pharmacies services offering. All the staff in the pharmacy are being retained and a new permanent pharmacy manager will be appointed in the near future.

Misterton Medical Services was a company established in 2014 by the two GPs in Misterton (Dr Brownson and Dr Ahmed) together with practice manager Graham Mickley.

Mickley said: “It has been great to work with the Hub pharmacy team and I know they will build on the foundations of patient care that Drs Brownson, Ahmed and I ,together with our staff have built up at the Misterton Pharmacy.

“We chose to pass our pharmacy business onto the Hub pharmacy because we believe that their extensive experience of operating community pharmacies will enhance the Misterton Pharmacy. The medical practice will work closely with the Hub pharmacy in the coming years to offer a range of integrated health services for the benefit of all our patients ”.

Steve Jeffers, CEO of the Hub pharmacy, said: “We will introduce new pharmacy services and expand the total service offering from the Misterton Pharmacy over the coming months. Graham and the Misterton GPs have done a great job establishing this new pharmacy and we will build on their efforts and work closely with them to enhance the pharmacy offering to all the residents of Misterton and the surrounding villages.”

The Hub pharmacy is a new community pharmacy group backed by Bridges Venture.
