Countdown to the big kick-off: Murray Carmichael-Smith, bcsAgency

Murray Carmichael-Smith, owner of Nottingham-based inbound marketing business, bcsAgency, gives us the lowdown on Derby County’s chances of Championship glory next season.

What was the high point of last season?
Beating Hull 4-0 which resulted in 4 wins on the run before the usual, now inevitable play off disappointment.

Favourite other team in your division?
Birmingham City – I have to say that as I know Gary Rowett and have been treated to some lovely hospitality at St Andrew’s.

And least favourite?
Play in red, apparently won a couple of European Cups once just after the war, as I often get reminded running an agency in Nottingham city centre!

Have you been happy with the close season?
Pearson is a good manager at this level and is hopefully the right fit for the club, we’ve been quiet in the transfer market but the most important thing is keeping our good young players together – I’d imagine after the Euros Jeff Hendrick will be on the radar of a lot of Premier League clubs. Overall I have confidence that someone as smart and successful as Mel Morris has a cunning plan

How do you think you’ll do next season?
Not sure we have enough for the top 2 with the quality of teams that have come down but hopefully a playoff spot again – with success at Wembley this time!

Predicted finish?
5th
