Nottingham restaurant reaches new heights

A city centre restaurant has cited the recent heatwave for one of its best ever starts to summer.

With the sun finally making an appearance and thousands of graduates ready to pop open the champagne, Rocket@Saltwater, located in The Cornerhouse in Nottingham city centre, saw thousands of customers pass through its doors in July.

The good weather, combined with the extra footfall, lead to the restaurant and bar selling 3,019 pints of beer, 1,977 cocktails, 72 bottles of fizz and 208 pizza boards in just one week.

Manager of Rocket@Saltwater Nick Revill said: “Summertime is always a fantastic time for us, especially when the sun finally comes out. Our outdoor terrace is really unique in the city, making it an ideal place to celebrate any occasion or just enjoy the good weather.

“It’s no secret that there are a lot of venues to choose from in Nottingham so it’s great to see so many people choosing to visit us.”

The bumper weeks were followed by a free event at Rocket@Saltwater hosted by the Mimm Collective. The event proved to be the restaurant and bar’s most successful ever Saturday, with 2,500 attending during the day.

Suzanne Green, centre manager at The Cornerhouse said: “It’s no surprise that Rocket has been so busy, as soon as the sun shines people flock to its fantastic roof top terrace and it is always a favourite at graduation time.

“The Cornerhouse always sees an increase in diners and drinkers during the summer months with lots of opportunities to sit outside at our venues on Forman Street and in Trinity Square, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the summer months.

“We are expecting a busy few months now the summer holidays are in full swing and with the likes of Cineworld, The Lost City Adventure Golf and Fun Station, even if the weather is wet, there is something to do at the venue.”
