Lincs manufacturer on the acquisition trail after profits fall

Lincolnshire plastic sheet and roofing firm Molan has seen profits and turnover dip for the year-ending 31 December 2015.

The firm says that the falls was due to “contractual changes” within one of its business sectors, but that it saw “opportunities for growth” in other areas of the company.

For the 12 months to 31 December 2015, turnover fell to £12.3m from £13.6m in 2014, whilst profits fell from £1m to £772,000 over the same period.

A statement from Molan said: “The directors will be continuing to monitor the market to seek new growth opportunities through the acqusition of competitors to enhance and develop our existing business. 2016 will also see Molan concentrating on developing the study and service of existing and new products to its customers.”

Molan employs 77 people in Heckington, Sleaford.
