On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

A family lawyer is the newest partner at Nelsons Solicitors and to be heading up the family team at the firm’s Leicester office.

Emma Davies joined Nelsons’ Nottingham office in 2009 and is now looking forward to leading the Leicester office’s family department of five people.

She said: “I’m really happy to have been promoted to partner. It’s meant a lot of hard work and determination and I’m very pleased to have my dedication recognised.”

A Saxilby software specialist will be hoping has taken on nine new staff this month.

OrderWise, which gas recruited more than 40 new staff this year, recently committed to a £1.3m expansion in the village. This will see its premises at Newton Court on Saxilby Enterprise Park grow to accommodate several new teams and an interactive mock warehouse.

Among the recruits joining OrderWise in the latest tranche of hires are James McLaughlan, who joins as a project co-ordinator, and Jamil Karkach, who joins the firm’s marketing department as a consultant.

Managing director of OrderWise David Hallam said: “I want to welcome all nine new recruits to the OrderWise family. We’re aiming high in 2016 and the next few years will be some of the most rewarding and challenging we will face. We can’t wait to have the new extension finished and the new teams settled in.

“The new building will include a two-floor simulation warehouse designed not only to train new staff and improve existing OrderWise software, but also to show potential clients how the company’s products work in real-time, practical situations.”

Hallam added: “This is a feature you won’t see anywhere else and is all about improving the capabilities of our software. It will also allow us to demonstrate key features to show their applicable uses in a live warehouse environment. It really underlines how seriously we take our products and services.”

Also embarking on new careers at OrderWise are Romy Gray, who steps into a role as QA standards and compliance officer, Charlotte Hill, who starts as a client account manager, and Lee Bryan, who joins the web team as a back-end developer.

Henry Cliffe and Becky Ingamells also join the team as technical support advisors and Nikita Cairnie takes on a role as a cleaner.
