On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

West Bridgford-based Distinct Recruitment has appointed Jamiee Bishop to head up its new head of office support recruitment.
The hire takes Distinct’s headcount to 14 since it opened in January.
Bishop said: “I was attracted by the set up and the people. I was immediately impressed with not only their presence within the market so soon after opening but also the experience and skill set of everyone involved.”
She added: “It’s amazing to work with colleagues who all share the same vision, passion and excitement for Distinct. James and Arran told me that I would have full autonomy to create my own destiny. That, combined with my gut feeling that the role and company were ‘the one’, meant that I was set on starting.
“Oh, and the work night out before I started, if a Director can be the last one on the dancefloor you know you are joining a great business!”
Calder said: “Jaimee has a huge amount of experience and will bring drive, passion, hard work and commitment to the role, not only in the way that she works but in growing the office support division. I know that she will lead it to great success whilst maintaining a quality service to both candidates and clients.
“The office support market is one of huge opportunity for candidates right now. People make a difference in any company and Jaimee will represent quality candidates within their field to ensure we collectively place the right person within the right role to help their careers flourish and their employers grow with their support. We expect this new division to grow rapidly.”
Andy Cunnington
Civil and electrical engineering construction firm, McCann, has appointed Andy Cunnington as project manager.
Cunnington, joins Chilwell-based McCann from Balfour Beatty, where he’d worked for two years as operations manager. Prior to that, he spent 5 years at Bouyguess Energies and Services, where he took a lead role in project managing the M25 and M4/M5 ‘smart’ motorways – whereby the hard shoulder is used by vehicles as a running lane and the flow of traffic is controlled by variable speed limits.
For McCann, Cunnington will be project managing the new M1 ALR (all lane running) smart motorway section between junctions 16 to 19.
He said: “Smart motorway schemes have often proved challenging to implement, but with McCann’s excellent team, health and safety standards and meticulous processes in place, I know we’ll be delivering this flagship scheme on time and on budget for Highways England.”
