First homes go on sale at Devon development

Bellway Homes

The first homes have gone on sale at a new development in the Devon village of Willand.

Bellway is building 125 homes at Fox Mill Gardens, off Meadow Park, and potential buyers can now reserve a property.

Tim Lund, Sales Director of Bellway South West, said: “Welcoming the first visitors on site at Fox Mill Gardens is a key moment in what we believe will be a very successful development.

“This beautiful location in a county that has some of the most stunning countryside and coastline in the world is something rather special and we anticipate a lot of interest.

“This development is a practical proposition too, with Exeter city centre within a half-hour drive – and there’s also easy access to the M5, with two junctions within three miles in either direction.

Construction work began earlier this year and is progressing well.

Lund said: “Next March we plan to open our showhome, which will give people the chance to get a feel for the style and quality of the houses we are building and imagine how a home here could work for them.

“We are building a sustainable and sympathetic development at Fox Mill Gardens, where residents can walk to the school, the post office and the shop. We are focused on retaining many trees and hedgerows and complementing these with new planting and landscaping.”

Bellway is contributing a significant sum to local services as part of the planning agreement.

The developer will pay £250,000 towards Willand School, £125,000 for off-site open space and £100,000 towards public transport.

The homes will include  81 properties for private sale and 44 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.
