AFC Bournemouth and Black Knight Football Club have announced that they have entered into a binding contract to acquire the team’s home stadium, Vitality Stadium.

A newly-created entity, Black Knight Stadium Limited, will officially own the stadium, which AFC Bournemouth has called home since 1910.

“This acquisition is a strategic and logical step as we pursue AFC Bournemouth’s and Black Knight Football Club’s continued ambitions,” said owner and general partner Bill Foley. “We have acknowledged that accommodating more of our growing fanbase is integral to our goals for the club, and this move will allow us to pursue all options moving forward. We appreciate Structadene’s stewardship of the stadium and for working with us to return it to its natural home with the club.”

The stadium acquisition closely follows the launch of the club’s new performance centre last month, continuing a trend of significant investment in facilities to improve both player development and the supporter experience.

Ownership of the stadium will help AFC Bournemouth as the club makes plans for any future renovation and expansion projects. With a capacity of 11,286, Vitality Stadium is the smallest of the current Premier League home venues.

The stadium hosted one of the world’s biggest international football clubs, Real Madrid, in 2013 and has since witnessed the club’s first-ever Premier League victory over four-time defending champion Manchester City in 2024.

Off the pitch, the stadium has also hosted legendary musician Elton John at Dean Court in 2006 and recently was the home venue for local hero Chris Billam-Smith’s Cruiserweight World Championship victory in 2023.
