Former HSBC bank to be sold at auction

A former branch of the HSBC Bank in a Somerset coastal town is going up for sale in Bond Wolfe’s next auction with a guide price of £280,000+.

The freehold premises at 6-8 Old Church Road in Clevedon will appear in the livestreamed auction on Thursday May 15.

However, interested parties who act quickly could secure a purchase sooner, as offers in excess of the guide price may be considered prior to the auction.

Ian Tudor, commercial auctions director at Bond Wolfe, said: “These are attractive and vacant freehold former bank premises in a prominent town centre location.

“The property is considered suitable for a wide variety of alternative uses subject to planning permission.

“The two storeys are currently configured as a former banking area on the ground floor, with three partitioned offices, a rear lobby with stairs to upper floor, a store room and storage vault.

“Upstairs is a landing, two offices, a kitchen, boiler room, male and female toilets and a large office and storeroom.

“The accommodation, which extends to approximately 3,079 sq ft, fronts the southern side of the B310 Old Church Road, near its junction with The Triangle within the heart of Clevedon town centre.”

Clevedon is a historic town on the north Somerset Coastline, overlooking the Severn Estuary.

It is easily accessible from major towns including Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare, which are approximately 15, 36 and 10 miles away.

The former bank in Clevedon will be among scores of lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday 15 May.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
