Two new arrivals announced at Somerset scheme
Two new retailers have signed up for a scheme in the heart of Somerset.
Pizza chain Papa John’s and Spar convenience store are the latest businesses to take up commercial space at The Old Printworks.
The Old Printworks, from Acorn Property Group, includes 159 one, two, three and four-bedroom homes built over three phases, creating a new community in Frome.
The first phase has sold out and limited homes remain in the second phase.
Papa John’s is now open and will be followed by Spar which is anticipated to open in February.
Robin Squire, regional managing director of Acorn Property Group’s Bristol region, said: “The Old Printworks has sold exceptionally well. With the first phase selling out in record time and all residents moved in, it is great to see the new community forming.
“Our ethos centres around creating communities where people can live, work and play. The addition of these stores means residents can ‘live locally’ and are able to meet their everyday needs within a short walk of their home.”
Huw Thomas of Huw Thomas Commercial, who acted as agent for the Acorn Property Group, said: “We are very pleased to have secured two well-known international brands to join The Old Printworks. This site is centrally located within Frome providing easy access for the local community.”
Taking the largest unit on site, the Spar convenience store will offer quality, value for money products.
The Spar business started with one Dutch store in 1932 and now has more than 13,600 stores in over 48 countries on four continents.
The second unit confirmed is to be let by the American pizza company Papa John’s. With over 500 restaurants across the UK, the company had humble beginnings starting with the first pizza that was made in a broom closet in Jeffersonville, Indiana, USA, to now more than 5,000 locations in 44 countries and territories around the world.
The Directors of Late Stop (trading as SPAR) said: “We are delighted to become a part of this exciting development and look forward to providing local residents with a quality and reliable top up shopping facility that will include a free to use ATM, fresh and frozen groceries, Paypoint, lottery, Costa coffee and an in-store bakery.”
A representative from Papa John’s commented: “With well over 500 stores across the UK we are pleased to continue the expansion of Papa John’s at The Old Printworks, enabling the new community to access fresh pizza and share the experience with friends and family.”
There is now only one retail unit remaining at The Old Printworks.
