‘Oven-ready’ residential scheme set to be auctioned off

A former office building in Lichfield, “oven-ready” for redevelopment as two dozen new apartments, is going under the hammer at the next Bond Wolf Auctions sale next month (December).

Bridge House in Station Road is part of Bond Wolfe’s 164 lot auction catalogue which will be the largest auction to be held in the Midlands in 2019.

A guide price of £650,000 has been placed on Bridge House and bidding is expected to be fierce for what is seen as a prime development opportunity.

Planning permission is already in place to convert the offices into homes.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “We expect this development site to attract considerable interest from both the local and national property community. The demand for homes in Lichfield far outweighs the supply and this site comes with planning permissions already in place, making it effectively ‘oven ready’ for any potential developer.

“Lichfield is a delightful small city and one of the most popular places to live in the region, so whoever secures this site will be in a very fortunate position.”

Bridge House is a two storey office building with permissions in place for both change of use, from office to residential, and for work to extend the building and create a second floor to provide a total of 24 apartments.

The current proposals, approved last summer, would see demolition of part of the existing building and the erection of two side extensions and the creation of a second floor to form 12 apartments, in addition to the 12 units that would be created by conversion of the existing office space.
