Developer reveals two more pre-lets at flagship Brum building

Citadel, Birmingham

Hybrid office developer Kinrise has announced its flagship Birmingham building, Citadel, has pre-let 45% of its spaces prior to its completion this summer.

Renovations are well underway to make 190 Corporation Street the city’s most sustainable workplace, offering more than 46,000 sq ft of office, retail and social space.

Two pre-let agreements for the building include The Church of England Birmingham and criminal barristers chambers, Citadel Chambers. The former has signed a ‘green lease’ agreement to occupy 22% of the building’s total office space when it relocates next month.

A spokesperson from the Board of Finance for The Church of England Birmingham said: “We were keen to partner with a landlord who shares our ethos and values, as well as a desire to be part of Birmingham’s beating heart.

“We felt a synergy with the Kinrise model and approach; their commitment to environmental consciousness echoes our own and our move to Citadel signifies a significant step towards our net zero target.

“Their focus on creating a true sense of community within their buildings is very much aligned with the culture of our staff, volunteers, clergy and church communities”.

Criminal barristers chambers, Citadel Chambers has agreed a lease for 4,046 sq ft of office space, the equivalent of  10% of available office space within the building.

Citadel Chambers and The Church of England Birmingham join existing Citadel tenant Boston Tea Party to form approximately 45% of space already agreed ahead of the building’s completion this summer.

Run by a building app and “state-of-the-art technology”, Citadel will be operationally net zero carbon, powered by 100% green electricity, from LED lighting to VRF air conditioning, and with electric car charging stations and cycle storage spaces.
